Restyle repaints every frame of your clip in a new visual style. Unlike a filter, it rebuilds the image — lines, shading, textures — while the subject, motion and camera move stay the same. It is the quickest way to turn a phone clip into anime.
How to turn a video into anime
- Open the Genjutsu Restyle generator.
- Upload a clip up to 30 seconds long (MP4 or MOV).
- Choose the Anime preset.
- Optionally add details: soft afternoon light, pastel sky, gentle film grain.
- Press Generate. You see the credit cost first, and Restyle is the lowest-cost mode.
Eight styles to start from
| Preset | Looks like |
|---|---|
| Anime | Hand-drawn 2D animation with clean line art and cel shading |
| 3D Cartoon | A polished animated feature film |
| Claymation | Stop-motion with visible clay textures |
| Watercolor | Soft pigments bleeding on paper |
| Cyberpunk | Neon night, rain and holograms |
| Film Noir | 1940s black and white with hard shadows |
| Pixel Art | 16-bit retro palette |
| Oil Painting | Thick, visible brush strokes |
Tips for cleaner results
- Keep the subject large in frame. Small, distant figures lose detail when restyled.
- Steady footage restyles better. Fast pans and heavy blur make frames harder to keep consistent.
- Describe light and color, not just the style. "Golden hour, warm rim light" gives the model more to work with than "anime" alone.
Restyle vs Motion Transfer
Restyle changes the look of the whole clip. If you want a different character performing your motion instead, use Motion Transfer.
